MUMBAI: Sri Satya Sai Seva organizations in Maharashtra have planned elaborate celebrations for the first anniversary of the Mahasamadhi of Sri Satya Sai Baba. Speaking at a Press conference to announce the upcoming events of the celebrations former Chief Justice of India and chancellor of the Sri Sathya Sai Deemed University, PN Bhagwati said that the organizations ‘simply want to keep his message alive.’
The first event to offer reverential homage to Baba was a panel discussion on the ‘relevance of Sri Satya Sai Baba’s message of human values in the current scenario.’ The organizations plans to install an Idol of the Baba at the Dharmakshethra in Andheri and the final event will be a tribute by a musical programme.
When asked about the recent seizure of cash by police and the court order that directed the police to hand over the money 35.5 lakh to IT department, the trustees said that, “the trust is working in a smooth manner. The entire trust was chosen by Baba himself and we are working on the path that he guided us,” Mr PN Bhagwati said.
A four-wheeler carrying Rs 35.5 lakh in cash was confiscated by police during checking at Kodikonda check-post in Anantapur district bordering Karnataka on June 18 last year. Subsequently, police served notices to top officials of the Sai Central Trust, including Sathya Sai Baba’s nephew RJ Ratnakar, to appear before them in connection with the seizure of cash.(Eom)
