MUMBAI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested two worker’s leaders and unknown officials of Ordnance Factory, Varangaon, Jalgaon for demanding money in return for jobs. According to a press release both K.R. Medhe and Shri P.R. Kolhe alias Bandhu Kolhe demanded money from candidates, some of whom have appeared and passed the written recruitment test, for the post of DBW, Electroplater, Millwright, Grinder etc. with assurance to get their trade and medical test cleared.
The decoy posing as one of the candidate appearing for the said recruitment test for the Electroplater contacted Shri K.R. Medhe and Shri P.R. Kolhe who demanded Rs.2.5 lakhs for clearing the trade and medical test and Mr. Medhe was caught accepting Rs.5000 as token money out of demand of Rs.2.5 lakhs on 28th December 2011 and Shri P.R. Kolhe was arrested on the next day and were produced before the Court. Both the accused persons have been remanded to Police Custody till 7th January.
CBI, Mumbai has appealed to general public that if they come across such demand of bribe during any recruitment in Central Government/ PSUs (Railways, BSNL, MTNL, Banks, Insurance Companies, Air India, Oil Companies, Income Tax, Customs, Army, Air force, Navy, Excise etc.) in Maharashtra State, they may inform CBI ACB office at Mumbai, Pune & Nagpur or contact 8108224455, 022-22021490 , 22882794.(Eom)
